  • Keeping our children safe

    Mon 06 Jan 2020 C Holliman

    Dear Parents and Carers

We all wish to keep our children safe both in school and out.  Over the last few weeks parents driving and parking dangerously has put many of our children at risk of serious harm.

We have a one-way system that will aid the smooth flow of traffic.  Please use it.

We have double yellow lines and yellow zigzag lines to indicate where NOT to park.  It is illegal to park on these lines around a school.  Brent traffic enforcement will be continuing to work with us and will fine offenders.

School staff will ask you to move your car if you park dangerously.  Parents may ask you to move your car if you park dangerously.  They do not deserve to be spoken to with aggression or rudeness.  They would not be asking if you had made a positive decision.  As a community we put safety before convenience!

PLEASE DRIVE AND PARK SAFELY AT ALL TIMES

  • Online safety

    Wed 20 Nov 2019 C Holliman

Following our Parent forum, focused on online safety, we would like to invite you to join an evening Facebook Live Q&A from the comfort of your homes!   We're thrilled to have a special guest from Roblox (many of our pupils play it) to give you advice on staying safe online on that game.

Please link on the above link to join the event.

  • Addition Workshop materials

    Thu 07 Feb 2019 C Holliman

    Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to those who attended the Addition Workshop yesterday evening.  It was well attended and we received positive feedback.  Please see the materials from the workshop here:  https://www.tmss.org.uk/mathematics-workshops

If all the workshops are well attended, we will be running them again later in the term.

We are looking forward to the next workshop on Subtraction on Tuesday, 12th March at 6pm.

Please note, due to limited spaces we are allowing only one space per workshop, per family, subject to availability.

Please logon to view your bookings. Also, please update your bookings if you are unable to attend a workshop as there are large waiting lists:

    Infants: https://mountstewartinfant.parentseveningsystem.co.uk

    Juniors: https://mountstewartjunior.parentseveningsystem.co.uk

Unfortunately during these sessions we will not be able to accommodate pupils from the school or younger siblings as all parents will need to be focused on the learning, information and practical experiences.

  • Pencil cases and stationery

    Thu 07 Feb 2019

    Dear Parents and Carers

We are conscious that many children are currently bringing pencil cases and stationery equipment into school and that it would be useful to clarify the equipment that they need to have available. It is also an area that the school would find it very useful to have supplied by parents, in order to focus our resources on the things that can only be provided through the school.

These items should be in a simple pencil case, that is clearly labelled and does not have games or novelties attached to it (otherwise these cause considerable distraction in lesson time).

The list below explains what items it would be helpful for your child to have available to them in their pencil case.

If your child is in KS1 (Years 1 and 2):

    ·         2 x HB pencils

    ·         Pencil sharpener

    ·         Ruler for underlining – ideally a 15cm (6") or folding ruler would be ideal – so that it fits inside the case (Maths rulers will be provided)

    ·         Rubber (we prefer children to neatly cross out errors, but there are some occasions when rubbers are useful)

    ·         Glue stick (good quality)

    ·         Green handwriting pen for editing work (a biro is acceptable but not gel pens and not fluorescent green).

    ·         Separate pencil case with colouring pencils as an optional extra

If your child is in KS2 (Years 3 to 6):

    ·         2 x HB pencils

    ·         Pencil sharpener

    ·         Ruler for underlining – ideally a 15cm (6") or folding ruler would be ideal – so that it fits inside the case (maths rulers will be provided)

    ·         Rubber (we prefer children to neatly cross out errors, but there are some occasions when rubbers are useful)

    ·         Green handwriting pen for editing work (a biro is acceptable but not gel pens and not fluorescent green)

    ·         Small rounded end scissors

    ·         Glue stick – the cheaper ones aren’t very sticky and don’t last too well!

    ·         A5 jotter/notebook (this is for rough work, planning, ideas etc. and can be personalised by your child)

    ·         Separate pencil case with colouring pencils as an optional extra

In KS2, handwriting pens will be provided by the school once children have been awarded their pen license.

    Regards
