Mount Stewart Greater London Early Years Stronger Practice Hub

Greater London Early Years Stronger Practice Hub

Better knowledge. Better practice. Better beginnings.

The first five years of a child’s life matter enormously.

At Mount Stewart Greater London Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, we bring together people, evidence and expertise to support high-quality early years practice.

As a Department for Education-funded Stronger Practice Hub, we support early years settings across Brent, Harrow, Wandsworth, Merton and Hammersmith & Fulham.

Bringing evidence to life

We believe evidence has the greatest impact when it is accessible, meaningful and put into practice.

We connect research, evidence and professional expertise with the realities of everyday early years practice.

We help practitioners and leaders understand what the evidence means, explore how it works in different contexts and apply it in ways that make a genuine difference for children and families.

How you can work with us

Our support is designed around the needs of the Early Years sector. Through the Hub, you can access:

  • Evidence-informed professional development to strengthen knowledge, skills and confidence.
  • Expert-led training, webinars and workshops focused on children’s learning and development.
  • Networks and communities of practice to share ideas, experiences and effective approaches.
  • Best-practice visits and demonstrations to see evidence-informed approaches in action.
  • Practical guidance and resources that translate research into everyday practice.
  • Collaborative improvement projects that enable settings to learn from one another.
  • Targeted support for settings serving disadvantaged children.

WORKING WITH PARTNERS

Working together to improve Early Years practice

We work closely with national partners, sector organisations, local authorities and early years providers to bring together the best available evidence and practical expertise.

By sharing what works and supporting its implementation, we help create the conditions for continuous improvement and better outcomes for children.

BUILDING CONNECTIONS

Building Connections That Drive Better Early Years Practice

We don’t believe that improving Early Years practice happens in isolation.

Some of the most powerful professional learning comes from sharing experiences, asking questions, exploring new ideas and learning from others.

We create:

  • Connections between research and practice.
  • Connections between professionals and leaders.
  • Connections between settings and communities.
  • Connections between ideas and action.

By connecting people with evidence, and evidence with practice, we help turn knowledge into action.

OUR AMBITION

To support a culture of learning, collaboration and evidence-informed practice across the Early Years sector.

We work alongside practitioners, leaders and partners to share what works and help every child get the best possible start in life.

Because when we invest in the people around children, we create the conditions for children to thrive.

Better beginnings start with all of us.
