Mount Stewart Junior School Admissions (Ages 7–11)

 

Age range: 7–11 years

  • 90 full-time Year 3 places
  • 90 full-time Year 4 places
  • 90 full-time Year 5 places
  • 90 full-time Year 6 places

 

How to Apply for a Year 3 Place

Brent Council is responsible for allocating all Year 3 places and in-year admissions for Mount Stewart Junior School. Applications are made online via eAdmissions following the guidance on the Brent School Admissions pages.

 

  • Deadline for applications: 15 January 2026

Important: There is no automatic transfer from Mount Stewart Infant School to Mount Stewart Junior School. Parents/carers must submit a separate application via www.eadmissions.org.uk.

 

Admissions Policy & Equal Opportunities

Pupils are admitted at age 7 without reference to ability or aptitude. The school is committed to equal opportunities and pursues a policy of non-discrimination in implementing its admissions policy. The maximum number of admissions in Year 3 is 90 pupils.

 

Oversubscription Criteria – Year 3

Where more applications are received than places available, the following criteria are applied:

 

  1. Looked after children / previously looked after children
  2. Children attending Year 2 at Mount Stewart Infant School at the time of application who have siblings at Mount Stewart Junior School
  3. Other children attending Mount Stewart Infant School at the time of application who do not fulfil criterion 2
  4. Other children who currently have a sibling at Mount Stewart Junior School and will continue to do so on the date of admission
  5. Children for whom it is essential to be admitted because of significant medical or special educational needs
  6. Children living nearest to the school, measured along the safest walking route

 

Appeals

If you are not offered a place at Mount Stewart Junior School and wish to appeal, details of the appeal procedure will be sent to you on request from the Headteacher.
