  • Coronoravirus Advice and Update

    Tue 10 Mar 2020 C Holliman

Yesterday, the Prime Minister confirmed that the government’s response to COVID-19 remains in the Contain phase – the first phase in the government’s coronavirus action plan.

The coronavirus action plan was launched last week. This document sets out what we have done to tackle coronavirus (COVID-19), and what it plans to do next, depending upon the course the current coronavirus outbreak takes.

The action plan can be found here:

Advice from Public Health England continues to be for education and children’s social care settings to remain open, unless advised otherwise. We are continually reviewing how best to support all educational settings and the impact of any measures will be considered carefully before being implemented.

We have also launched a separate section on our website to update you as best we can.

Updated travel advice for travellers returning from Italy

Yesterday, Public Health England updated their travel advice, recommending that anyone returning from Italy should self-isolate, even if you do not have any symptoms. If you do develop symptoms, call NHS 111.

Thank you to Renuka Patel for sharing this easy to follow pictorial guidance.  We will be sharing this with your children over the next few days in class and in assembly.
  • Achievements of staff

    Thu 06 Feb 2020 C. Holliman

I wanted to share the great news that two members of our team, Miss Mclaren and Miss Carey have both achieved the status of becoming moderators for Brent.

Both had to go through a rigorous process including assessment tasks and interview to be selected.  They will now use their skills and knowledge to continue to support our team and other schools across Brent to moderate and quality assure their teacher assessment.

We are very proud of them both and very pleased that we have such expertise as part of our Mount Stewart team.

  • Keeping our children safe

    Mon 06 Jan 2020 C Holliman

    Dear Parents and Carers

We all wish to keep our children safe both in school and out.  Over the last few weeks parents driving and parking dangerously has put many of our children at risk of serious harm.

We have a one-way system that will aid the smooth flow of traffic.  Please use it.

We have double yellow lines and yellow zigzag lines to indicate where NOT to park.  It is illegal to park on these lines around a school.  Brent traffic enforcement will be continuing to work with us and will fine offenders.

School staff will ask you to move your car if you park dangerously.  Parents may ask you to move your car if you park dangerously.  They do not deserve to be spoken to with aggression or rudeness.  They would not be asking if you had made a positive decision.  As a community we put safety before convenience!

PLEASE DRIVE AND PARK SAFELY AT ALL TIMES

  • Online safety

    Wed 20 Nov 2019 C Holliman

Following our Parent forum, focused on online safety, we would like to invite you to join an evening Facebook Live Q&A from the comfort of your homes!   We're thrilled to have a special guest from Roblox (many of our pupils play it) to give you advice on staying safe online on that game.

Please link on the above link to join the event.

  • Addition Workshop materials

    Thu 07 Feb 2019 C Holliman

    Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you to those who attended the Addition Workshop yesterday evening.  It was well attended and we received positive feedback.  Please see the materials from the workshop here:  https://www.tmss.org.uk/mathematics-workshops

If all the workshops are well attended, we will be running them again later in the term.

We are looking forward to the next workshop on Subtraction on Tuesday, 12th March at 6pm.

Please note, due to limited spaces we are allowing only one space per workshop, per family, subject to availability.

Please logon to view your bookings. Also, please update your bookings if you are unable to attend a workshop as there are large waiting lists:

    Infants: https://mountstewartinfant.parentseveningsystem.co.uk

    Juniors: https://mountstewartjunior.parentseveningsystem.co.uk

Unfortunately during these sessions we will not be able to accommodate pupils from the school or younger siblings as all parents will need to be focused on the learning, information and practical experiences.
