PE Enrichment

Mount Stewart offers a broad and exciting range of enrichment clubs for the children to attend after school. Children from Reception to Year 6 are invited to join our enrichment club family, with over 20 clubs on offer! Our sporting clubs are run by expert professionals and range from multi-sports to karate, football, cricket and even ballet! Sports and dance hold 65% of the total enrichment club timetable.

We provide additional opportunities for children to participate in a range of inter and intra competitions e.g. swimming gala’s, balance festival, football tournaments and matches, basketball tournament, house competitions, staff vs Year 6 netball matches. Children have termly year group competitions to allow all children to have the opportunity to participate in competitive sports.

The idea for Sports Day 2023 was developed after much research and consultation from the Mount Stewart stakeholders! Using feedback from staff, carers and mostly importantly the children, the Sports Leaders and PE lead devised a unique model bespoke to our school where we could combine an engaging, active and fun day for all the family to enjoy!

We also offer Bikeability courses in KS2 to teach pupils how to be safe on the road when using their bikes.

We also host a holiday sports club which is run by Challenge Sport Education and is offered to all children within the community. This has proved to be a popular holiday provision that enables children to have opportunity to be active.
