Geography Ambassadors

At Mount Stewart School, we believe in fostering a vibrant learning environment, and we recognise the significance of student leadership within the subject of Geography. Our commitment to cultivating confident and articulate leaders who are passionate about Geography and our planet.  Student leaders play a crucial role in shaping our Geography teaching and learning experiences.

We empower our Geography Ambassadors to take on key leadership roles, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also influential in shaping the way we approach geographical concepts and understanding. Through their leadership skills, we encourage our students to express their views about geographical events in the natural world and share these with their peers.

Geography Ambassadors at Mount Stewart School are entrusted with the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for Geography.
  • Excel as effective communicators within the school community.
  • Share planning ideas with teachers to promote geography initiatives across the school.
  • Advocate for the importance of Geography and its relevance in our everyday lives.
  • Work collaboratively with the eco-warriors to devise ways to improve our school environment.
  • Manage and oversee Geography resources in the classrooms.
  • Model respectful handling of resources, instilling a sense of responsibility among students.
  • Serve as Geography Champions, actively supporting and modelling learning within the class or the broader school context.

Through these initiatives, our Geography Ambassadors play a pivotal role in ensuring that the opinions of our students are not only valued but also actively contribute to the enriching landscape of geographical education at Mount Stewart School.
