Mental Health Week 2021
This year we are embracing Mental Health Week with an online Mental Health Workshop developed by A-Life. Pupils will be able to engage with the workshop during their virtual learning sessions. Depending on their year group, pupils will be learning about;
EYFS - Empathy drawing and how to use it to explain our feelings.
Years 1 and 2 - How to be a good friend and the importance of managing screen time.
Years 3 and 4 - Relationships and solving conflict, managing screen time and a growth mindset.
Years 5 and 6 - A more in-depth look at emotions, healthy relationships, screen time as well as things that are good and bad for our brain.
Inside Out Day
On Wednesday 3rd February 2021, Now and Beyond is hosting the first-ever mental health and well-being festival for schools! At Mount Stewart, we are getting involved and wearing our clothes inside out to remind us that our emotions are inside and often unseen. We will be encouraging everyone to be mindful of this and treat others with kindness, practice gratitude and develop resilience. These three areas are the focus of our Mental Health Week activities.
Mental Health Activities Each Day
Everyday pupils will be participating in lessons and activities to support positive mental health practices. These will be live remote sessions as well as sessions for those pupils currently coming into school. Keep an eye out for a slide show below to see what we've been learning!
