The Mount Stewart Schools

Librarians

Our Library Leaders are representatives from every class in the Federation. They have the responsibility of supporting their classes and working as a team to enable the Infant School Library to run efficiently. The library leaders meet weekly to learn about the responsibilities required to be an effective library leader. They then transfer these skills when working alongside peers in their class. Their training has involved understanding how to use the school library system and organising the library to have pupil ownership.

Our library leaders use their knowledge to assist pupils in their class when visiting the Infant Library and facilitate teachers in running an effective weekly library session which is an enjoyable experience for classes to attend. At Mount Stewart, our library is a space for all pupils to feel welcome and embrace a love for reading.
