This week we have started our learning about The Chimpanzees of Happy Town. We listened to the story and thought about rhyming words. We also discussed the beginning, middle and end of the story.
Jez Alborough reads Where's My Teddy?
Here is another popular story for you to enjoy with your child at home. It has lots of rhyming words too.
In phonics children have been learning the sounds h, b, f, ff, l and ll. They have continued to practise using their robot arms to help blending sounds to read words.
In maths we have been exploring capacity. Children have been learning the terms full, nearly full, half full, nearly empty and empty. They took turns in being the teacher!
Children attended assembly on Monday to learn the important message 'choose respect'. Throughout the week we continued to recognise and promote children showing respect to each other. We explained that respect means thinking and caring about other people's feelings.
Children enjoyed coming to school in their spotty and Pudsey clothing. They learned about charities and fundraising. Thank you for helping to support Children in Need at school.
